Research title: Combining Partial Enteral Nutrition with Biologics to Optimise Induction and Maintenance Therapy for Adults with Active Ileocolonic Crohn's Disease
Research Summary
I am a PhD student in Human Nutrition at the University of Glasgow and a Registered Associate Nutritionist (ANutr). I have a BSc (Hons) degree in Human Biology & Nutrition, which I also obtained from the University of Glasgow. I am interested in the role of diet and gut microbiome in development, prevention, and treatment of various health conditions. My PhD study investigates the clinical efficacy of a nutritional therapy also known as partial enteral nutrition in combination with anti-TNFα biologic drug therapy for treatment of active Crohn’s Disease. This study aims to explore the impact of diet and gut microbiome changes on disease outcomes and primary response rates to drug therapy with biologics.
