Nominations for Young Alumnus of the Year 2006

Published: 9 February 2006

Nominations are invited for outstanding alumni who graduated within the last 15 years.

Young Alumnus of the Year is an annual award that aims to celebrate the achievements of our alumni who have made a major contribution to the community, arts, sciences or business.

We are delighted that last year the trophy was awarded to the crime author Christopher Brookmyre who is one of Britain's most talented young writers. Chris was nominated by Prof Willy Maley from the English Literature Dept and Creative Writing Course. The press coverage in the Sunday Herald following his award can be seen online at: www.sundayherald.com/50580

The Development & Alumni Office are now looking for nominations for 2006.

The only restriction on nominations is that candidates should have graduated no more than 15 years ago. If you think that you, or someone you know, fits the bill, simply send your nomination to Sarah Richardson in the Development & Alumni Office or fill out the online form.

All nominations should include a short written submission detailing the reasons you think that your chosen alumnus/a should win the cup. Feel free to send in additional supporting information: newspaper cuttings or a CV would be great. Deadline for submission is 26 May 2006.

This is a great opportunity for the University to recognise the achievements of our young talented graduates and great publicity for the University and its Departments.

Look forward to hearing from you.
