IMPORTANT - Guidance on Disabled Evacuation

Published: 12 April 2005

The university has developed a new web site to provide guidance on disabled evacuation plans

The University has a moral and legal duty to ensure that people can safely evacuate premises should there be an emergency, and there are circumstances in which protecting disabled people may mean that we have to put in place special procedures. In this situation, departments must take responsibility for preparing evacuation plans. Assistance is available from the Student Disability Service, Safety & Environmental Protection Service and Estates and Buildings.

http://www.gla.ac.uk/staff/disabledevacuation is a new web site that has been developed to provide guidance on disabled evacuation plans. Its preparation has been coordinated by Ann Galbraith of Safety & Environmental Protection Services. I hope you will find it informative. If you have comments or queries on the guidance, please contact Ann or myself.
