If you are hiring an external hire company vehicle for 3 days or less, you are required to use the hire companies' insurance.
If you are hiring an external hire company vehicle for 4 days or more you are permitted to use the university insurance, provided you have been assessed to drive that class of vehicle.
Individuals hiring a vehicle using university insurance must first pass an in-house driving assessment.
If you are hiring an external hire company vehicle for more than 14 days, using university insurance, the vehicle details must be added to the Zurich insurance database. Please forward details of hire to ecs-business-hub@glasgow.ac.uk
