Bus Travel between Gilmorehill, Garscube and Tay House

Changes to CityBus service 15, Milngavie – City Centre

CityBus 15 is one of the few bus services which goes along University Avenue, the others being First 4 and Stagecoach X25/X25A. It is also of high importance for the University as it also provides a direct connection for intercampus travel between Gilmorehill, Garscube, Tay House, Gartnavel Hospitals and the Dental School.

Please note route and timetable to CityBus 15, starting from 6th January. The updated timetable and more information can be found on the Citybus webpage.

The service will remain hourly, but the times and route has been changed, to take in Cathedral Street for Strathclyde University, Caledonian University, Glasgow College and Royal Infirmary before ending at George Square.

Hopefully this will open up new travel choices for our staff and students.

The service was withdrawn in Summer 2019, partly due to low patronage and this will remain a risk unless the service generates sufficient passenger numbers over the coming months.

We would therefore encourage all staff and students who are served by this bus route and/or have a requirement to travel between the University locations to consider using this bus service if this meets your needs.

We are aware that ideally there would be a higher frequency service and we will continue to work with SPT and the public transport operators to seek improvements in frequency and improved reliability where possible.
We are also investigating how we can make bus travel more user-friendly and we will continue to ask for discounts and promotions for staff and students.
