Multi-Factor Authentication Update

Published: 8 December 2022

In 2023 Multifactor Authentication will be expanded to protect more services including the MyGlasgow Portal, Moodle, and the UofG Helpdesk. This means that the way you log-in to these services will change even if you haven’t adopted MFA yet.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) coming to more services

Office 365 and the Glasgow Anywhere Desktop now use Multifactor Authentication (MFA) as part of a drive to improve cyber security for you. We also encouraged you to take up MFA

In 2023 Multifactor Authentication will be expanded to protect more services including the MyGlasgow Portal, Moodle, and the UofG Helpdesk. This means that the way you log-in to these services will change even if you haven’t adopted MFA yet.

What’s changing?

The login page will look different, and rather than use your GUID and password, you will need to use your University email address and password in the same way as you currently login to Office 365.

This will allow you to move seamlessly between services and log in less frequently, because a login on one service will give you access to others, for example, if you have logged in recently to check email, you will be able to access MyGlasgow portal without entering your password again.

To take advantage of fewer logins please register for MFA now
