From 17 November to 19 December, the Students’ Representative Council will lead a month-long programme of events and activities celebrating Disability History Month at the University of Glasgow.

This year’s theme, Life Beyond the Classroom, builds on last year’s World Changers Need Access campaign by exploring the wider student experience – from clubs and societies to social life and accessibility across campus. The campaign celebrates disabled students and staff, while continuing to call for a more inclusive and equitable University community.

The SRC’s programme will include workshops, discussions, creative events, and collaborations with the Disabled Students’ Society and local organisations.

Key Events

  • Launch & Coffee Morning – Monday 17 November, 10am–12pm
A welcoming launch event bringing together students, staff, and local organisations to celebrate the start of Disability History Month and highlight support available to disabled students.
  • Building Inclusive Clubs: An SRC Workshop – Wednesday 26 November, 4pm–6pm
A practical session delivered by Birds of Paradise Theatre Company, helping student groups build accessibility and inclusion into everything they do.
  • “I Swear” Screening & Panel – Tuesday 9 December, 6:30pm–9:30pm
A thought-provoking film screening and discussion exploring disability, accessibility, and representation in media.
  • Paws Against Stress – Tuesday 16 December, 11am–1pm
The SRC’s signature de-stress event returns with therapy dogs, friendly faces, and a calm space to unwind as the semester ends.

Throughout the month, the SRC will share stories, resources, and opportunities for students and staff to get involved – online and across campus.
