International Women's Day 2021 at UofG
UofG will be virtually celebrating International Women's Day 2021. This year the IWD 2021 campaign theme is #ChooseToChallenge and the campaign calls on everyone to choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality.
On @UofGlasgow social media channels there was a surprise performance from women across our community for IWD 2021.
'They showed up. They brought the light. They went to work.'

Elsewhere, UofG's Equality and Diversity Unit have been co-ordinating virtual celebrations for IWD 2021.
Many staff and students have organise events for IWD 2021 including the School of Education's Gendered Inequalities in Higher Education & Lifelong Transitions: Research and Experiences webinar. While the Institute of Cancer Sciences and the Beatson Institute are holding two events - their first virtual book group on Invisible Women and also a talk by Dr Jess Wade, a physicist at Imperial College London and a voice for diversity in science.
The SRC are also working hard to organise an International Women’s Week between Monday 8 and Friday 12 March for International Women’s Day.
To celebrate International Women’s Week, the SRC and various clubs, societies and student bodies are putting on a range of fantastic events. You can view on the activities on the IWD 2021 SRC pages.
You will find out more IWD events on our #TeamUofG Student Newsletter events pages.
