Glasgow University Student Television (GUST), UofG's very own station, recently won two major awards at the 47th Annual National Student Television Awards (NaSTA).

GUST, a founding member of NaSTA and has attended the awards every year since their inception in 1973, was honoured to win two awards - one for Best Technical Achievement and another one for Best Freshers’ Coverage.

The GUST team were also shortlisted for Best News and Current Affairs, at NaSTA which were held on Saturday 17 October 2020, after being postponed from their initial date in April due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Best Technical Achievement award came with an added £500 grant from the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, which will be put towards upgrading their technical capabilities.

Current GUST Controller, Katja Kraljević said: “For our Technical Achievement award, it was incredibly rewarding to see all the hard work GUST put into revamping out website pay off! This was a completely student-run initiative, and what I’m personally most proud of is that it was a female-led project. It’s always been a goal of mine to increase women’s access to tech.

"As for Freshers’ Coverage, we all had an absolute blast covering the week’s events last year, and the content we produced was fantastic. A massive well done to our former Controller Samantha, who edited the compilation video and had to condense 110+ minutes of footage into a 10-minute highlight!”
