Dear students,

We are deeply concerned to see the unrest in Glasgow and across the UK following the recent knife attack in Belfast; we know this will be a worrying time for colleagues and students.

Further to my message to colleague and students yesterday, I wanted to invite our staff and student community to an online space taking place on Monday 15 June from 2.15-3.15pm.

I will be joined by Professor Lubna Nasir and Dr Azra Meadows, co-chairs of the Global Majority Network. This session is intended as a supportive space to come together, reflect on recent events, and share any concerns or experiences.

I recognise this continues to be a difficult time for many in our community, but I hope this opportunity to come together offers some support.

Please know we are here to support any member of our community who is concerned about these events.

• Call  the 24 hour counselling and advice line on 0800 028 3766 or download the Wisdom App (which features live chat function and video calling). 
• There are support and wellbeing resources available on the Wellbeing home page, including access to our Support Finder 
• You can use the Reporting Tool to tell us in confidence about any issues affecting you, or any student at the University of Glasgow.
• If you are a student living in halls of residence you can contact your Residence Life Team who are on hand for support, welfare issues and signposting.
