Staff benefits

Staff will benefit from a 10% discount off the monthly mticket fare which will be locked in for a full year once signed up for the scheme.

The scheme allows employees to benefit from unlimited bus travel on First Bus services in their chosen zone, meaning you can use services for work or leisure.  

Signing up to the scheme is done online and is quick and easy to do with payment made directly to First Bus via a monthly Direct Debit.

By using the First Bus app, the ticket will be downloaded directly onto your smartphone automatically every month.

In order to benefit you must apply to join the Commuter Travel Club as a staff member of the University of Glasgow.  All applicants must have a University of Glasgow email address with the domain Glasgow.ac.uk in order to sign up.

Staff member

You must be a salaried member of the University of Glasgow staff, or any of its wholly owned subsidiaries, with a staff number, i.e. have a contract of employment issued from Human Resources.

Contract

You must have a contract of employment that covers the full period of the season ticket.

You can apply at any point during the year.

Only those on a University of Glasgow contract issued from Human Resources with a University of Glasgow email address are eligible to apply.

Leaving the University

If you leave the University prior to the end date of your Mticket bus pass you can continue to use the current ticket you have purchased for the remaining validity.   

You will then be required to cancel your subscription to the Commuter Travel Club which can be done by contacting the Ticketing Team at first.etickets@firstgroup.com or by phone on 0345 340 9023.
