Give as You Earn

The University of Glasgow is pleased to partner the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) to offer Give As You Earn (GAYE), a payroll giving scheme which enables employees to give to UK charities, straight from their pre-tax salary.  Many charities Prefer receiving donations through CAF Give As You Earn, as they do not have to claim Gift Aid, allowing them to wholly focus on fulfilling their mission.

How Does it Work

Using the online sign-up link, simply select whether you would like to donate directly to charity each month, or whether you would like to open a Charity Account. Then select your donation amount and the UK charity you wish to donate to. All UK registered charities can be supported, as well as organisations recognised by HMRC as charitable. Once submitted, your donation will be automatically deducted from next month’s payroll.

Eligibility

You must be a salaried member of the University of Glasgow staff, or any of its wholly owned subsidiaries with a staff number, i.e. have a contract of employment issued from Human Resources.

You must be a UK resident tax-payer and your earnings would not fall below the National Minimum Wage if you were to participate.

Application Process

Contact Performance, Pay and Reward who will be able to provide you with the access to the online sign-up form.
