What is Clipchamp?
Microsoft Clipchamp is an online video editor designed to make video creation easy for everyone, even for those with no prior editing experience.
Why should I use Clipchamp?
You have access to Clipchamp through your University of Glasgow Microsoft 365 subscription. It has a host of really useful features to make video recording and editing as easy as possible. It also has some exciting features like AI tools, a teleprompter and a stock media library. Have a look at the list of features below:

Clipchamp basics
Follow along with the video below to work through the basics of content creation with Clipchamp:

Create a New Project: Start by opening Clipchamp in your browser or through the app. Click on the "Create a new video" button to begin a new project

Import Media: Add your video files, images, and audio to the media library. You can drag and drop files from your computer or import them from cloud storage services like OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbop

Edit Your Video:

Trim and Split: Drag your media files to the timeline. Click on a clip to trim or split it by dragging the green bars or using the split tool

Add Text and Effects: Use the toolbar to add text, transitions, filters, and other effects to enhance your video

Adjust Settings: Modify the speed, color, and aspect ratio of your clips as needed

Use Templates: If you’re new to video editing, you can start with one of Clipchamp’s templates. These templates are designed for various types of videos, from social media posts to professional presentations

Export Your Video: Once you’re satisfied with your edits, click on the export button. Choose your desired resolution and format, then save the video to your computer or share it directly to social media platforms

Clipchamp's teleprompter is a tool that helps users read and draft scripts while recording videos. It can help users improve their presenting skills and video consistency.
These steps will show you how to find and use the teleprompter tool.
Step 1 - Click on the 'Record & Create' tab from the left hand menu
Step 2 - Select a recording option that includes a webcam
Step 3 - Click the 3 dots for 'More Options'
Step 4 - Select 'Teleprompter' from the drop-down menu to enable
Use the teleprompter by pasting your script into the box. There are manipulation tools for use within the Teleprompter from text speed, font size through to position on screen.
