Deans of Graduate Studies Committee Remit
All matters relating to Graduate School (i.e. PGR/PGT/CPD) activities, especially:
Planning, Strategy, Reporting and Coordination across the Graduate Schools (without disruption to normal reporting/QA responsibility for academic matters which flow through Higher Degree Committees to the Senate Office and Senate).
Direct input into the development of relevant University and College PGR and PGT strategies and their implementation.
To work with the VP (Research) and VP (Innovation and Knowledge Exchange) to facilitate the strategic allocation of PGR scholarship funds for institution-wide schemes.
Coordination/recommendation on PG recruitment activities (with ER), including Graduate School and University Postgraduate web-pages.
Coordination of cross-College reporting on PGR and PGT matters, with appropriate committees and university services.
Periodic review and updating of the Code of Practice for Postgraduate Research Degrees and coordination of best practice for individual Graduate School supplements.
To review and approve new/significantly changed postgraduate research programmes.
