Annual Monitoring

  • is an essential element of the University‚Äôs Quality Assurance and Quality Enhancement processes.
  • allows Schools, Colleges and the University to ensure that the courses and programmes we deliver meet the expectations of staff and students
  • continually look for opportunities to develop and enhance provision.
  • closing the feedback loop and ensuring that actions and outcomes are reported to colleagues and students.

The management of Annual Monitoring is devolved to Colleges and is managed locally by School and College Quality Officers.

Due to the impact of Covid-19, Annual Monitoring will continue in a modified form for the review of academic sessions 2019-20 and 2020-21. Our existing Annual Monitoring arrangements have been adapted to incorporate a lighter touch focussing on key issues including reflection on the Student Experience and monitoring. The revised AM1 Form reflects the preference for Annual Monitoring to be reported at School level with the option, where appropriate and with the agreement of the College Quality Officer, to permit more formal reporting on a more detailed level i.e. from units of learning.

Good Practice

Annual Monitoring is about assuring quality but it’s also about ensuring the University is constantly enhancing its provision. A key element of enhancing our practice is learning from each other.

More information about good practice can be found at the University Good Practice web pages.
