Published: 28 January 2022

The fund supports research and learning and teaching projects, and will close on 4 March 2022

The University of Glasgow signed a strategic partnership agreement with Radboud University in the Netherlands in June 2018.

The signed Memorandum of Understanding commits the two research-intensive universities to invest jointly in extending their world-class research and enhancing the student experience. It also established the Radboud-Glasgow Collaboration Fund which was launched in April 2019.

The University has received a fantastic response to the Fund since its launch, with 19 projects from a wide range of disciplines across all four Colleges receiving funding in the last three years.

The 2022-2023 Radboud-Glasgow Collaboration Funding Call opened on Monday 10 January 2022 and will close on Friday 4 March 2022 for Research and Learning & Teaching projects.

The fund has been established to:

  • Facilitate and support joint initiatives that will strengthen the two universities’ strategic priorities;
  • Encourage innovative learning and teaching practices and initiatives;
  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary and cutting-edge research;
  • Encourage international staff mobility and provide opportunities for development.

The fund is seeking proposals for two different types of project:

  • Research (in any discipline, for one-year projects)
  • Learning and Teaching (teaching initiatives such as dual degrees, jointly taught modules etc.)

The maximum budget available for each Research and Learning & Teaching project is £20,000.

Each successful project will be awarded funding for one year, with the possibility of a second year of funding subject to a new application being submitted. Applications are invited from academic and professional from all disciplines at Radboud and Glasgow and their affiliated Research Centres and Institutes. Applicants must have an active contract of employment with one of the partner institutions (appointed at least 0.5 FTE). If on a fixed term contract, the end date must be beyond the funding period.
