Broadcasting award for Alison Phipps
Alison Phipps, Professor of Languages and Intercultural Studies at the University of Glasgow and Co-convener of the Glasgow Refugee Asylum and Migration Network (GRAMnet), has won a radio award.
It was for a talk accompanied by music she delivered on a small, faith-based radio station called Black Diamond FM.
You can hear the broadcast, which won a Jerusalem award, on the awards website.
Reason for nomination: a timely insight into the reality of those, especially children, seeking asylum and the engagement with the UK authorities.
