Rowing Championship win for UofG

Glasgow University Boat Club has been crowned as the overall winner of the Scottish Rowing Indoor Championships, writes Andy Barton, Director of Rowing, University of Glasgow Sport.

The annual event, held in The Glasgow Club, Bellahouston, attracts the top university, junior, veteran and club rowers across Scotland. Across the 6 student events offered; gold medals were won in 5 events, silver medals in 4 events and bronze medals in 3 events. The medal winners are:

  • Student fresher women - Amy Tulloch (gold)
  • Student fresher men - Michael Ratcliffe (silver)
  • Student and open lightweight women - Flora Wharton (gold), Jenny McCormick (silver), Maggie Ulyatt (bronze)
  • Student and open lightweight men - Morgan Serpell (gold)
  • Student and open weight women - Robyn Gillies (gold), Emily Colley (silver), Ellen Smith (bronze)
  • Student open weight men - Aaron Nicholson (gold), Isaac Piano (silver), Gerard Gallagher (bronze)

Congratulations to all rowers for securing the Victor Ludorum for the best performing club, and in particular the medal winners and new national champions.
