The foundation of the University of Glasgow in 1451 is celebrated each year on Commemoration Day. This year's event will be on Wednesday 15 June at 9.30am to 3pm.

Venue: Chapel/ Bute Hall

The foundation of the University of Glasgow in 1451 is celebrated each year on Commemoration Day.

The celebration comprises:

  1. A Service for the Commemoration of Benefactors in the University Chapel at 9:45am
  2.  A University Meeting at 11:00am in the Bute Hall when the Chancellor, Professor Sir Kenneth Calman, will confer Honorary Degrees upon a number of eminent persons. Thereafter there is a drinks reception in the Quadrangles.
  3. Commemoration Day Lunch in the Hunter Halls at 1.00pm
