Email Overload

Published: 20 June 2016

Another winner in the UofG Email Overload campaign: using Outlook to help tackle your email mountain.

This week Alison McGuiggan, Deputy Director, Data Quality, Planning & Business Intelligence offers some advice about getting the best from Outlook, when trying to manage the email work-load:

I find the Clean Up function in Outlook very useful. It drastically reduces the number of messages in your mail folders by deleting emails within a conversation where the whole of that message is contained within a more recent email. You can configure the way it works to prevent it deleting any messages that are flagged or have attachments.

Thank you once again to the many UofG students and members of staff who have responded to the Empowering People group's Email Overload campaign.  And staff and students are continuing to comment on the www.glasgow.ac.uk/smiley page.  You can now find all the Email Overload posters on that page.

Got a winning idea (or smile)?

There’s a £20 gift voucher each week for the best story or suggestion and an overall winner at the end of the campaign will scoop a £50 voucher. Click on the poster below to get a PDF version you can print.
