Embedding Employability Framework
Review
Understanding where you are now and what changes as a result of curriculum enhancement is an important part of the Embedding Employability Framework.
The Review stage brings together student, graduate and sector data and insights to provide evidence and context for discussions. Before engaging with the Framework, it helps inform the Identify conversation by building a clearer understanding of the current picture. Following implementation, it supports evaluation by exploring what has changed, what impact has been achieved, what has been learned and what should happen next.
Review therefore acts as both a starting point and a reflection point, helping to inform continuous enhancement.
Our approach
Before engaging with the Framework, Review helps provide context by drawing on available evidence about students, graduates and relevant sectors using relevant datasets and labour market information. A short insights report can be provided by your College Employability & Skills Lead to help identify strengths, opportunities and areas for discussion as part of the Identify stage.
Following implementation, Review focuses on understanding what has changed, what has been learned and what should happen next. This includes reflecting on the experience of implementation, considering student and staff feedback, and exploring both the immediate outcomes and longer-term impact of Framework-related enhancements. Depending on the context, this may involve reviewing evidence relating to career readiness, student experience, skills development and graduate outcomes. The aim is to understand the value created for students and identify future opportunities for enhancement.
What do you need to do?
At the start of the Framework discussions, or as part of the Identify stage, you'll work with your College Employability & Skills Lead to consider relevant evidence and insights that can help inform discussions around employability and skills within your course.
Following engagement with the Framework, you'll have opportunities to reflect on changes that have been made, consider evidence of impact and identify future areas for development. This may involve reviewing feedback, reflecting on implementation, considering relevant data and discussing how employability and skills can continue to be strengthened within the curriculum.
