As part of the University of Glasgow’s Learning and Teaching Strategy 2036, The C4L project team are delighted to invite colleagues to contribute to an exciting initiative aimed at transforming the educational experience of our pre-honours undergraduate students by developing a Curriculum for Life (C4L) course.
This year, we are running twenty Curriculum for Life courses. Enrolment opened to eligible students in early August and we're pleased to see that student numbers are very positive, with some courses at or near capacity already. We're looking forward to working with colleagues to continue to build on this success.
We are now seeking Course Proposal Submissions from colleagues who are passionate about teaching and innovation and are keen to develop new C4L courses for the Academic Year 2027-28 and 2028-29.
Prior to beginning work on a course proposal, please contact your C4L College Lead to discuss your ideas in the context of College priorities and the wider ambitions of the C4L portfolio. Their contact details can be found here.
C4L courses are credit-bearing, elective modules designed to help students engage meaningfully with learning, knowledge, and ways of thinking and practicing beyond their core disciplines. These courses focus on real-world challenges, foster future-ready skills, and encourage collaboration across subjects, schools, and degree programmes.
How you can get involved
You can find out more about the proposal process and C4L eligibility and characteristics on the SharePoint page. We welcome proposals for courses that:
- Address real-world challenges
- Extend learning beyond the discipline
- Foster collaboration and connection
- Develop future focused capabilities
You may propose a new course, redevelop an existing course for C4L, or propose an interdisciplinary course. The deadline for proposal submissions is Friday the 25th of September 2026, 5pm.
