In this edition, we’re delighted to unveil insights into the University’s first Student Experience Strategy. Designed as a companion to the University’s overarching Learning & Teaching strategy and aligned with our Research Strategy, the Student Experience Strategy is a pivotal force in sculpting the educational journey of our students.

By harmonising these strategies, we aim to empower our students with the essential skills, knowledge, and experiences crucial for success in their academic and related pursuits. As they evolve into global citizens, these strategies collectively lay the groundwork for a future marked by achievement and fulfilment in both their personal and professional endeavours.

Following a lot of planning and preparation, implementation of the strategy is well underway, most recently launching the Student Experience Hub of information for both students and staff to find out more, make suggestions, and get involved.

Focusing on four main pillars:

  • student opportunity;
  • wellbeing;
  • inclusion & belonging; and
  • physical & digital environment

The strategy will deliver multiple projects that enhance the non-academic, co-curricular experience of students at all levels of study, across cohorts and campuses.

Very much a partner to the University’s Learning & Teaching Strategy, dedicated funding is enabling a range of multi-faceted pilot initiatives over the next 2-3 years, which if successful, will become part of our longer-term provision.

A range of communication and engagement activities will start to take place over the coming months, and we would love to hear your feedback.
