Disability Service

How to get support

There are three ways to get support from the Disability Service:

Complete a Study Support Request

A ‘Study Support Request’ or ‘SSR’ is a quick, online form for you to tell us about what you struggle with or find difficult, what support may have worked for you in the past, and what you think may be helpful to you now. Completing an SSR is the quickest and best way to get started with the Disability Service and get study support in place. Complete your SSR now.

What happens after you complete your Study Support Request?

Once you submit your SSR, a Disability Adviser will review your information, and we will email you about next steps. Depending on what you have told us, we may be able to put adjustments to your teaching or assessment in place right away. We may invite you to book an appointment with a Disability Adviser. If we do, you can choose between online and in-person appointments.

While you are waiting for us to respond to your SSR, there are other sources of support available:

  • Your Adviser of Studies is named on your MyCampus record and can support you with any concerns about teaching and assessment. You can find your Adviser of studies here by clicking on the Adviser Information tile.

Come along to a drop-in

If you’d like to speak with a Disability Adviser, come to a drop-in:

Tuesdays 10.05am to 11.55am

Wednesdays 2.05pm to 3.55pm

Thursdays 2.05pm to 3.55pm

Fridays 12.05pm to 13.55pm

There is no drop-in on Mondays at present.

Drop-ins are short (15-minute) appointments for you to speak with a Disability Adviser about what is most important to you right now.

You can attend the drop-in in person or online.

To attend in person, come to the Round Reading Room at one of the drop-in times.

To attend online, call 0141 330 5497 during the drop-in times.

Drop-ins are offered on a first come, first served basis. If you can’t be seen, please try again the next day. You will have the best chance of seeing an Adviser if you come at the beginning of the drop-in. If you would rather not wait, you can email support@disability.gla.ac.uk and we will respond, most often within five days. In a crisis or emergency, see the University guidance on how to get help in an emergency.
