What We Offer Students
We support all students on full degrees (undergraduate, taught postgraduate and research postgraduate) and graduates for up to two years.
Personalised Career Support
- 1:1 Career Coaching and Peer Career Support
- Workshops and resources on career options, job searching, applications, and further study
- Specialist advice and support for disabled students, resources for international students, and visa-sponsored roles in the UK
Employer Engagement
- Exclusive internships and part-time roles through the Student Opportunities Hub, alongside access to our network of 10,000+ employer contacts, UofG staff can also use the Student Opportunities Hub to hire students
- Recruitment fairs, live briefs, guest lectures and industry panels that showcase jobs and bring learning to life
- Employer insights and future skills knowledge shared directly through our partnerships.
Curriculum Integration
- Collaboration with academic staff to embed employability using our Embedding Employability Framework
- Partner with academic staff to make more explicit reference to the skills and employability in the curriculum and enhance this through experiential learning and meaningful assessment.
Global Opportunities
- Support for study abroad and exchange students: inbound and outbound
- Promotion of summer schools, digital mobilities and internships abroad
- Advice for staff on developing short-term mobilities and new exchange partnerships
- Enhanced support for widening participation and disabled students via the Turing Scheme.
Impact & Reach
In the 2024/25 academic year, we:
- Provided nearly 3,000 individual career appointments (98% rated very useful or useful)
- Delivered over 100 central workshops on core career topics
- Welcomed over 360 employers at on-campus events
- 9,000 students connected with on-campus events
- Supported 366 students to secure exclusive internships
- £1M wages paid directly to students for on campus opportunities (internships and part-time work)
- Reached 7,331 UG & PGT students via teaching
- Delivered 139 teaching hours across 22 of 23 Schools
- Facilitated 992 inbound and 440 outbound study abroad students, and 307 short-term mobilities.
