Careers Extra

Careers Extra is a place to find resources, events and guidance created with disabled and widening participation students in mind, in addition to our other services.

We’re here to help all students achieve their full potential, including if you:

  • have a disability, are neurodivergent, or have a long-term physical or mental health condition, whether or not you have a formal diagnosis
  • are a care-experienced or estranged student, student carer, Gypsy, Traveller, Roma, Showman or Boater student, or forced migrant
  • are from a widening participation or underrepresented background, including Scottish students living in SIMD postcode deciles 1-4 and UK students eligible for Free School Meals or means-tested funding
  • are a mature, local or commuter student
  • are the first person in your family to attend university (first-generation student)

Longer career coaching appointments exclusively for students with a disability or from widening participation backgrounds. 

Buddy Support

We want all students to feel comfortable and supported when attending our events and masterclasses. If you’d like a friendly face to join you, we’re now offering Buddy Support.

Disabled Students

Tailored career resources and support for disabled stuents, including those who are neurodivergent or have a long-term physical or mental health condition, whether diagnosed or not.

Mature Students

Tailored career resources and support for undergrad students aged 21 or over and postgrad students aged 25 or over at the start of their course.

Care Experienced and Estranged Students

Tailored career resources and support for students who are care-experienced or estranged.
