Guided Campus Tours

Prospective student campus tours are led by one of our current UofG Students. The tour will take you around our main Gilmorehill campus and take between 45-60 minutes.

Tours will begin at the Memorial Gate (G12 8QQ) located at the top of hill on University Avenue. Please arrive 5 minutes before your allotted time slot.

Most of the tour takes place outside where you are not required to wear a face covering (unless you wish to) we will advise on the tour if/when they are required. They will also be required if you decide to go inside any of the buildings out with your tour. Therefore, please bring a face mask with you.

As most of the tour takes place outdoors please dress for the weather and for walking around campus, which includes some steps and uphill areas.

Being of reasonable fitness for the tour is recommended (portions of the tour are uphill) but we will always do our utmost to make a tour as accessible as possible to those who may have reduced mobility. Please get in touch with us at campustours@glasgow.ac.uk to discuss any assistance you may need. Assistance dogs are also permitted in all areas of the University.

On the tour, our guides will be happy to take a break to let you get your breath back, take photos or ask questions.

The tour is intended for prospective students interested in studying at the University of Glasgow. Your guide will talk to you about some of the University’s History, but they will mainly focus on what our campus can offer students. They’ll give you an insight on what it’s like to be a UofG student, focussing on themes including student support services, the student unions, the library and other study spaces, clubs and societies, sport, and student life in Glasgow. All of our Student Ambassadors are very friendly and will be happy to answer questions throughout the duration of the tour.

Please note this tour is for the Gilmorehill campus only. Our School of Veterinary Medicine and outdoor sports facilities are situated at our Garscube campus:

Student Accommodation

Unfortunately, we are unable to include tours of student residences. However, we have included below, 360 videos on some of our residences. We recommend watching these before or after your tour. They are very comprehensive and include information on facilities available and accommodation support.

Whilst we can’t bring you inside our residences, you are more than welcome to explore their exteriors.

For more information on student accommodation at UofG including profiles on all of our residences, application process and contact details, please visit:
