University of Glasgow Connect

Welcome to our international newsletter

Our 575th anniversary celebrations draw to a close with the University of Glasgow improving its position within the world top 100 in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027.

The University is now placed 83rd in the world - up one position from last year.

Rachel Sandison, Deputy Vice Chancellor - External Engagement and Vice Principal - External Relations, said: “It is fantastic to see the University of Glasgow strengthen its position among the world’s top 100 universities in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027.

“As one of the most respected benchmarks in global higher education, these rankings reflect the strength of our teaching, research, international collaborations and global reputation. This achievement is a testament to the talent, dedication and ambition of our community and the positive impact of our work on society locally, nationally and around the world.”

In this edition of Connect we reflect on hosting a successful European Association for International Education conference, update on Glasgow's productive partnership with Radboud University in the Netherlands, and our Head of Alumni engagement explains the role friends and alumni can play to enhance our reputation.
