Saviet/Houston Duo Early Evening Performance
Sarah Saviet and Joseph Houston: Unfoldings for Violin, piano and E-bows
Catherine Lamb: Prisma VII, for violin and secondary rainbow synthesizer
Saviet/Houston Duo presents pieces which encourage listening to the beauty of subtlety. Unfoldings weaves gently sustained violin chords with E-bow strains from the piano, balancing fragile textures. Catherine Lamb's Prisma Interius VII for violin and secondary rainbow synthesizer couples live environmental sounds with the violin, fusing the outside world with the resonances of the acoustic string instrument and encouraging new spectral perceptions.
