Giving Day is coming: help us light the way for the next generationÂ
On 5 and 6 November, the University of Glasgow community will unite once again for Giving Day, a celebration of community and impact.
Since Giving Day began, over 500 donors have supported the University each year, raising more than £120,000 annually. Last year’s campaign was our most successful yet, raising a remarkable £150,000.
But the impact of those gifts is about so much more than the amount raised.
Every year, Giving Day helps create opportunities for students to come to Glasgow. As we enter our fourth Giving Day, it’s incredible to think that some of the students whose journeys you supported in those early campaigns will now be entering their final year at Glasgow. Their journeys were made possible by one united and generous community.
Your support has created places for students to turn when they face financial uncertainty, helping to ensure that changing circumstances do not stand in the way of their education.
The Student Experience Fund has flourished thanks to you. In those early Giving Days, as we emerged from the pandemic, you helped bring our community back together through virtual projects and new initiatives. Today, those gifts are helping students travel the world, represent Glasgow at conferences and networking events, take part in outreach projects, develop their skills through music and performance, compete through sports clubs and build lasting communities through societies.

You have helped sustain student publications, television and other creative and cultural projects, while giving students the opportunity to create experiences and memories that will stay with them long after they graduate.
Giving Day has also invested in life-changing medical research. Gifts have supported not only the researchers behind groundbreaking work, but also the equipment, technology and resources that make discovery possible. Every time we visit our researchers and see the tools helping them examine cells, blood samples and disease in new ways, we are reminded of the incredible possibilities your generosity can create.
For three years, you have shown us what happens when our community comes together. And, as we celebrate our 575th anniversary, we’re excited to see what we can achieve together this year to mark the occasion and truly celebrate this University and its people.
There are so many ways to be part of Giving Day. Whether you join us for the JMS Abseil, enjoy a hot chocolate with us on 5 November, join us virtually for our Behind the Scenes Archives event on 6 November, follow along on social media, share our stories or make a gift, there’s a way for everyone to get involved.

Snoopy, our office dog, is heading out around campus for Giving Day! He’ll be showing off what your support has helped us achieve and meeting members of our university community along the way. But where should Snoopy go next? You’ll get to choose his next destination! Follow along online to see where his Giving Day adventures take him and find out what he gets up to.
However you choose to take part, we can’t wait to have you with us. Now we’re ready to see what you can make possible next.
Together, we can light the way for the next generation.

The entire UofG community is grateful to everyone who has taken part in Giving Day over the years and we look forward to celebrating Giving Day 2026 with you! Thank you for being part of something extraordinary.
