On 01 July 2026, we hosted Aysenur Deger to present her research on income inequality and grievances against minorities.
The Information Integrity Research Network at the University of Glasgow was delighted to host Aysenur Deger (Syracuse University) who presented her excellent dissertation research on countering right-wing populist messaging. She finds that making income inequality salient decreases resentment toward immigrants and ethnic minorities, with the effect strongest among the ethnic-majority subset. She tests this through pre-registered survey experiments in both the UK and Turkey.
