IRT Application Criteria & Timeline
Below you'll find the IRT application, criteria outline and the timeline for the application process.

Criteria
Applications will be reviewed and assessed against the following criteria:
Interdisciplinarity – to what extent does the proposal demonstrate:
- Leadership team spanning a minimum three COSS schools.
- Potential for interdisciplinary research in COSS.
- Awareness of funding landscape and existing clusters of strength at competitor / potential partner institutions.
Leadership, development and inclusion – to what extent does the proposal articulate:
- Your approach to shared leadership, including any plans to work with the College Research Support Office (CRSO) in CoSS, school research directors, and relevant university investments.
- A plan to ensure the themes act as inclusive mechanisms to support a wide range of colleagues in COSS at all career stages, including consideration of equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Your understanding of “research ambition” across the college, and how this theme would support that.
Feasibility and outcomes – to what extent are the planned activities:
- Have the team identified some desired outcomes for the three pillars (research income, skills and culture, impact and engagement).
- Feasible in terms of timeframe, risks/ assumptions, and budget/ available resources.
