CoSE EDI Calendar

Throughout the year, the College of Science & Engineering and our Schools run events and activities that support equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing. This calendar includes College-wide dates and initiatives, as well as events taking place across our Schools and wider University community. It will be updated throughout the year as new activities are confirmed.

October 2026

Black History Month: Activities across the University supporting race equality, anti-racism, learning and discussion. This year’s theme is ‘Honouring our Communities’.

13th of October: Lovelace–Hodgkin Symposium 'Making the Invisible, Visible – AI, Stories, Power & Participation'

20th of October: CoSE Wiki-a-thon – an opportunity to make overlooked people, histories and contributions more visible through Wikipedia.

21st of October (12:30–15:00) UofG Menopause Exhibition: Atrium, Adam Smith Business School. An exhibition exploring menopause, experiences and research across the University.

CoSE Wellbeing Programme: The College’s six-month wellbeing programme begins, with monthly sessions running from October to March, delivered in partnership with SAMH. Theme and session details TBC – more information coming soon.

November–December 2026

Trans Awareness Week (13th – 19th November): An opportunity to raise awareness, increase understanding and support trans inclusion, details TBC – more information coming soon.

UK Disability History Month (16th November – 16th December): Activities highlighting disability equality, accessibility and the history and experiences of disabled people, alongside ongoing work around accessibility and neurodiversity. Details TBC – more information coming soon.

January–February 2027

CoSE Wellbeing Programme: Monthly wellbeing sessions continue. Theme and session details TBC – more information coming soon.

CoSE Steps Challenge for SAMH: A four week New Year wellbeing and fundraising challenge, with opportunities to get active individually and together, including short weekly campus walks. Dates and further information TBC.

LGBT+ History Month (1st – 28th of February): Activities and shared resources celebrating LGBT+ history and supporting LGBT+ inclusion across the College. Further information TBC.

March 2027

International Women’s Day (8th of March): College and School activities marking International Women’s Day, with opportunities for shared activity across CoSE, including IWD Wiki-athon (TBC).

CoSE Wellbeing Programme: The final monthly session in the six-month programme, alongside preparations for the CoSE Mental Health and Wellbeing Week. Theme and session details TBC – more information coming soon.

May 2027

CoSE Mental Health and Wellbeing Week: A programme of activities shaped by feedback and learning from the six-month CoSE Wellbeing Programme. Dates and programme TBC – more information coming soon.

June 2027

Pride Month – 1–30 June: Activities celebrating Pride and supporting LGBT+ inclusion across the College.
