MVLS Engagement Awards

MVLS Engagement with Research Awards celebrate the diverse public engagement taking place within the College, and aim to recognise and reward those individuals and teams who are successfully engaging the public with our world changing research.

WINNERS Announced - MVLS Engagement Awards 2022

Our Awards focus on Public Engagement with Research and we are seeking to reward engagement with our MVLS research that is well designed and implemented to make a positive contribution to both our public communities and our research work.  This year we have simplified the nomination process and are seeking to reward those making a positive contribution to our public engagement in the following categories.

  • Engaged Researcher of the Year
  • Engaged Early Career Researcher of the Year – in association with NERDs

MVLS researchers/ECRs (postgraduate or staff) who have excelled in engaging public non-academic audiences with our research. Nominations may detail a variety of engagement activity undertaken rather than focusing on a single project or event.

  •  Public Engagement Project(s) Award

Initiatives and activities that make an outstanding contribution to public engagement with the College. Collaborative and partnership projects are welcome where MVLS research work and staff are involved.

Awards are open to all MVLS staff and PGRs. Self nomination and collaborative projects that include MVLS research work and staff are welcome. Long-term engagement and projects are eligible but must include activity within the last 12 months.

Certificates and Awards of up to £1000 will be available to winning individuals and projects.

Award winners were announced at the Amplify Showcase & MVLS Engagement Awards - Celebrating the best of public engagement across MVLS on Wednesday, 8 March 2023 at the Glasgow Science Centre.

The MVLS Engagement Awards are supported by funding from the Wellcome Institutional Strategic Support Fund.
