The College is coordinating a series of discovery science surgeries (diagnostics and drug discovery) to provide academics with an opportunity to discuss their research with industry experts and explore ways to advance/translate their research, even if it is at a very early stage.

The first of these surgeries will focus on the development of diagnostics (biomarkers, panels and devices) and will provide the opportunity for academics to seek advice from industry experts on ways to advance/translate their research. You will have the opportunity to receive guidance on preferred research development strategies, to enhance your understanding of industry needs and access potential networks of contacts.

The surgery will be held on the 1st March. If you would like to be considered for an appointment, please provide a brief summary (max 1 page) of the potential diagnostic (overview, anticipated clinical utility, current status, proposed pathway to commercialisation and any current industry support/engagement) to Dr Ruth McLaughlin by Monday 29th January 2018. Successful academics will be notified at the beginning of February and will be asked to provide further information which will be shared with the industry panel in advance of the surgery.
