Newsletter - April 2018

A warm welcome to the second edition of the Glasgow Molecular Pathology Node newsletter!

It’s been a fantastic few months since our last update, as you can see from our highlights below, spanning cancer to data collection and informatics to health economics!  This has only been possible through the drive, hard work and enthusiasm of colleagues across NHS, industry and the University – thanks so much to all of you involved!

Our Promoting Partnerships (PRecision diagnOstics MOlecular paThology and imagING network)

events every two months are a great example of how we’re bringing people together to accelerate diagnostics research, development and implementation, and we’d love to see you at our forthcoming meetings – the next is on 31st May.

We’ve also had the pleasure of working closely with our sister Nodes – we caught up with our colleagues at the Directors’ meeting in February which went ahead in Newcastle despite the “Beast from the East” snowy weather, and the recently funded IMID-Bio-UK inflammatory disease biobank and SteatoSite fatty liver disease data commons have support from across the Nodes.

Our training in molecular pathology is going from strength to strength - we’re looking forward to seeing everyone’s work at the forthcoming Laboratory Medicine Poster meeting on 13th June, and we’re welcoming registration for next session’s courses.

Lastly, please “hold the date” for our Annual Symposium on 12th September, we’re looking forward to another great day and to seeing you all there!

Best wishes
