This Friday (March 23) at 5pm the Words of WW1 team is hosting a Poetry Recital Open Auditions event where anyone can sign-up to recite one of the nine selected World War One (WW1) poems for the project. Audience members will then get to vote (online and anonymously) on their favourite candidates. The winning orators will be invited to recite poems in Verdun, France during a funded trip from July 1 to July 8.

You can sign-up to recite a poem at the event...or simply sign up to attend on the day. (See links)

Words of WW1 is a student-led cultural heritage project that aims to recite and record WW1 poetry at sites along the Western Front. They do this with the aim of capturing the individual experiences of WW1 soldiers through their poetry. By doing so, people today will have the opportunity to commemorate, empathise and identify with these men - 100 years later.
