Theatre Studies officially launched its “Dramaturgy as Critical Practice” Research Hub on 25 January 2018.

It is one of the two research hubs currently in operation in Theatre Studies. The event coincided with the book launch of Anselm Heinrich’s new monograph on “Theatre in Europe Under German Occupation” and the related international symposium on “Dramaturgies of War” held at the Goethe-Institut Glasgow. The symposium featured 22 speakers from across the world and attracted an audience of 50.

The Research Hub brings together a range of research interests from across the Theatre Studies teaching team at Glasgow – contemporary and historical and relating to a number of dramaturgical practices.

The launch is an early culmination of activity since the Hub’s foundation in 2015. At the event its co-convenors Liz Tomlin and Michael Bachmann also launched the Hub’s new website. Members of the Research Hub are Michael Bachmann, Graham Eatough, Steve Greer, Anselm Heinrich, Simon Murray, Vicky Price, Ann-Christine Simke, and Liz Tomlin.
