1973 Honours Geography Reunion

The 1973 Honours Geography Class celebrated their 50th anniversary.
The Honours Geography Class of 1973 gathered on 5th April 2023 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their graduation. The group has enjoyed several reunions and, for this special one, 21 of the original 34 graduates attended for lunch in Glasgow University Union, some travelling from as far as California.
The reunion began with welcomes delivered by Dr Christina Persano of the School of Geographical & Earth Sciences, and Fiona Orr from UofG External Relations. Lunch was followed by a slide presentation which included photographs from the fieldtrips which had helped create the strong friendship bonds within the group. Various members then recounted their memories in amusing and thoughtful ways.
After an enjoyable day of reminiscing and catching-up, there is talk of another get-together in 2024!
