FOCUS ON: ARCHAEOLOGY - CUP & RING MARKS IN THE CLASSROOM

Archaeology at Glasgow has a long-standing tradition of working with community organisations and schools providing interactive sessions to a range of age groups.

Our researchers have created activities based around the temporary uncovering of the Cochno Stone, a Neolithic/Bronze Age stone decorated in circular markings.  Recent activities have included:

  • Studying and creating Rock-Art
  • Learning about survey and excavation work
  • Creating Archaeology-themed comic books and board games
  • Considering the social responsibility of working with prehistoric materials
