I have more than ten years of professional experience as a researcher and more than three years of teaching practice in Scotland (University of Glasgow) and Georgia (Tbilisi State University). My PhD thesis in sociology ath the University of Glasgow explored women’s experiences of and responses to gender inequality in their everyday lives in urban public spaces and at home in Georgia. In this research, I drew on qualitative data that emerged from in-depth interviews and participant observation.
A a researcher, I contributed to numerous projects related to human rights, social inequalities and gender-related issues and produced policy recommendations in several studies. I have cooperated with international development agencies, human rights organisations and local civil society organisations as well as decision-makers and government officials through my experience of working closely with various stakeholders in and outside Georgia. I was involved in several studies as a research consultant, for example, for the project Health of Trans and Gender Diverse People (organisation Global Action for Trans Community), leading the values and preference study for the World Health Organization (WHO).
