Sharing expertise via multiple channels

Contributing to podcasts, radio and TV programmes is great way of sharing knowledge, and Dr Anastacia Ryan does them all!

As part of her research on gender and sex work, Anastacia was recently featured in an episode of the BBC Radio 4 series "Lady Killers with Lucy Worsely" looking at the crimes of the 19-20th women from a contemporary, feminist perspective. By exploring the story of Mary McKinnon, she reflected on how women in sex work get treated by the justice system now compared to the Victorian era.

Anastacia is a true all-rounder. Her work on women's access to justice conducted not only in academic capacity but also as the Chair of the Young Women's Movement attracted attention of policy makers abroad. In spring 2023, she was invited to meet with a delegation of members from the Parliament of Catalonia in her capacity as an expert on the impact of legal frameworks on women’s access to justice.

Anastacia has also appeared on regular televised debates, and contributed various comments and opinion pieces to press including The Times and The Herald.
