Early Career Place Network
The Early Career Place Network is an online forum for early career researchers, policymakers and practitioners interested in arts and humanities approaches to place-based research, practice and policy. We meet online, once a month, to connect our work and interests, exchange ideas and participate in shaping future events. The network is part of the AHRC Place-based Research Programme.
It is a supportive and vibrant space for interdisciplinary thinking. We currently have 150 members across the UK and internationally, spanning academia, policy and practice.
Monthly Meetings
Our monthly meetings offer new and existing members a chance to learn about the latest developments in the AHRC Place Programme and connect with fellow members through networking break-out rooms, skillshares and themed conversations.
Our next monthly meeting will take place on 21 November. For details, please subscribe to our mailing list.
Place Dialogues
The Place Dialogues are a series of regular sessions to share key academic and policy texts that have inspired or challenged our thinking, discuss something we have written—published or in progress, explore an unfinished idea for a project or an intellectual puzzle. They are designed as a space for peer support and discussion.
How to join
The network is open to anyone who self-identifies as an early career academic or practitioner working on place-based issues in the UK and internationally.
To receive updates of meetings, events and opportunities, you can join our mailing list by filling in this form.
If you have any questions, please contact Lucrezia Gigante
