In the next Place Dialogue, we will lean into a reflection on the positionality of place-based research and the intricacies of our fieldwork, with a discussion led by Manas Murthy, Research Fellow in Sustainable Living and Place-Making at the University of Huddersfield.

Back in March, Manas Murthy and Lucrezia Gigante submitted a session proposal for the National Centre for Research Methods' Research Methods Rendezvous. The proposal (which has since been accepted) was titled We wonder when (or if) ‘fieldwork’ really begins or ends. The format of the event was intentionally loose and innovative, inviting researchers to submit a 'research wondering' – an unresolved intellectual puzzle – which will be briefly presented at Rendezvous One on 10th September. Presenters will then have the opportunity to catalyse interest and turn their 'wonderings' into researchable questions by developing an 80-minute session in collaboration with other participants.

With this session, we hope to gauge the interest of fellow members in joining us for the Research Methods Rendezvous! Registration to attend the Research Methods Rendezvous is open, and the full list of sessions is available here.
