We are delighted to be launching the brand‑new Student Recognition Awards on the Dumfries Campus. These awards celebrate the achievements and contributions of students across our campus community. 

This is your opportunity to recognise classmates who have made a positive impact within the wider student community, whether through leadership, kindness, community involvement, or general dedication to improving the student experience. These awards are designed to acknowledge students who have been engaged during their time at the Dumfries campus and who consistently contribute to making campus life better for everyone.

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 26 March 2026, from 4-6pm at the Holiday Inn (on campus). Please keep this time free in your calendars and look out for a special VIP invite.

Please note: Dedicated Class Reps, Student Ambassadors, and GUDU Committee members will be invited to the ceremony. However, they can still be nominated for any of the awards listed on the form.

Gym and Sports Facilities

We work in partnership with UWS and Dumfries and Galloway College to provide a series of sports events and activities each week. These are held at the Dumfries and Galloway College Sports Halls, just a 2 minute walk from the Rutherford McCowan Building on campus.
