The Web Portal
Our undergraduate computer based web portal provides students with a single point of contact with the Medical School and is accessible from anywhere in the world. Students authenticate through the portal and receive a personalised browsing experience with information and teaching content relevant to their particular year. Pre-matriculated year one students now also pre-book their IT training requirements even before arriving at the University.
In term time, our students may be based throughout a wide geographical area ranging from Strathclyde region to Dumfries & Galloway, and when doing Electives and Student Selected Modules (SSMs), can be at opposite ends of the globe. This poses a challenge:
- to ensure that everyone feels part of the "Medical School Community"
- to ensure that everyone has access to all relevant information, irrespective of their current location
We have received elective reports and course bookings on-line from as far away as Chile and Australia.

- Online submission of projects and reports
- Online application and allocation of Intercalated Degrees

All of the above can be carried out remotely from any worldwide Internet connection in a safe and secure manner.
