Glasgow Hosts 2015 Inter-Dental Field Day

Students in Costume

This year Glasgow hosted the annual inter-dental field day, welcoming Dundee Dental School to our very own Excelsior Stadium, Glasgow. We mixed things up with an array of competitive sports, inflatables, PPE races and fancy dress. Glasgow students did what they do best and went all out for our “Papillae Wonka” theme, with a few Willy Wonka’s scoring the winning goals.

We continued on to our Queen Margaret Union to show Dundee students exactly what they’re missing by not attending the best Dental School! Here we enjoyed a chocolate fountain, silent disco, photo booth and of course, the presidents challenge. This year our president Liz went head to head with Dundee’s president, their challenges included raw eggs, stuffing their mouths with marshmallows and of course some good old baked beans in faces (sorry Liz). Thankfully Glasgow successfully beat Dundee at sports, Presidents Challenge, and fancy dress theme (no biased judging going on here, we promise!).

The students enjoyed the sights and sounds of Woodlands road ending at the faithful Campus.

Field day is always a favourite for all the students, meeting students from other years as well as build relationships between the dental schools. We hope to include other dental schools in the future to continue the long tradition!
