Core Maths Skills
Throughout the programme, you will use key mathematical techniques such as functions, differentiation, integration, and matrix algebra. To support you, we have created a short Core Maths Skills course covering the key mathematical techniques you will cover on the programme. Further details are provided in the compulsory Fundamentals of Probability and Sampling Theory course.
Core Maths Skills is assessed through four separate assessments (one for each skill area). Due to the core nature of the subject, you must pass all four by May of your first year, but you can re-take them multiple times before the deadline. Support will be available from the School to help you succeed.
Revision Maths Material
Entry requirements for this programme state a first degree normally with a substantial mathematics component. Applicants may be asked to complete the pre-sessional maths course in order to meet this requirement.
You can test your mathematical skills with our pre-sessional maths mock test.
Course outline
This material is to help you revise mathematical concepts before starting the programme and will be assessed as part of the Maths Core Skills component of the compulsory Probability course. The course materials below are available to all students, and set the baseline expectations for this course.
