Dr Anastasia Ignatieva

  • Lecturer in Statistics & Data Analytics (Statistics)

Biography

Prior to moving to Glasgow, I was a postdoc at the Department of Statistics at the University of Oxford, working with Simon Myers. Before that, I was educated at Trinity College Dublin and the University of Edinburgh, and did my PhD at the University of Warwick as part of the Oxford-Warwick Statistics Programme (with Jotun Hein and Paul Jenkins).

Research interests

I work on population genetics. My research lies at the interface of statistics, probability and computation, seeking to develop methods and tools for understanding aspects of evolution through analysing genetic sequencing data. Specifically, I am interested in the scalable reconstruction of genealogies and genealogy-based statistical inference.
