Dr Obiora Ezike

Biography
Dr Obiora Ezike joined the School of Law as a Lecturer in Commercial Law in January 2022, having previously held a Lectureship in Law at Coventry University. He obtained his LLB from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and his LLM in Corporate and Financial Law (with distinction) from the University of Glasgow.He was the overall best student on the LLM course. He also completed his PhD, which was sponsored by the College of Social Sciences Scholarship, at the University of Glasgow. His PhD examined the Financial Collateral Arrangement Directive, particularly how property rights are created in financial instruments across English, Scots and Civil law systems.
Obiora is also dual-qualified: he is a Scottish solicitor and a solicitor in Nigeria. He has previously practised in the areas of commercial and insolvency law in Nigeria before going into academia.
Obiora is a member of the Society of Legal Scholars, co-director of the Corporate and Financial Law Research Group at the School of Law, and the Law Society of Scotland. He is also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
